I'd say it was a really insightful experience, I can definitely say I learnt so much from it! Everyone who took part was lovely too and it was a fun way to build on my advocacy skills. Do your research properly but also relax when giving your submissions.

The Beginner's Moot was my first ever mooting competition. I had no clue what was supposed to happen or how the proceeding with the judge was supposed to take place. All I had was the bundle I was given and the desire of going as far as I could in the competition, to prove myself that arguing in court was the thing for me. I would strongly advice students who are curious about arguing cases in court and want to follow to participate in this competition. It provides everyone with a good starting point and contributes enormously to enhancing a lot of skills, alongside written and oral advocacy. Being nervous is okay, as long as these emotions are constructive and can be used towards persevering and stepping out of your comfort zone.

I found it very helpful since the part covered in the event was what I was struggling with during my study. Well structured and informative. Also, while I was studying online from home, the opportunity to meet other students ad make arguments was very valuable. So overall I would rate 9 out of 10.

The Main Moot was a great way to explore different areas of law and further understand some of their complexities. I received personalised feedback from experienced professionals that was very valuable in developing my advocacy skills. The organisers did a great job in creating a competition that was not only challenging but also fun. I would highly encourage every participant to apply the feedback received to every round to avoid making the same mistakes in the next round, and not to be passive when receiving the feedback.

Simultaneously with the Beginners' Moot, the Main Moot was my first ever serious mooting competition, where I had to face experienced mooters and judges with years of professional experience in various legal fields. I no longer had the bundle and skeleton argument provided by the organiser - I was supposed to challenge my intuition and critical thinking in order to create my own. Round after round, I have discovered that solid and thorough research, good knowledge of the case and relevant legal frameworks and case law, alongside persuasion and adaptability are few of the key skills that contribute to the success of a mooter in the main internal competition at our university. All these ingredients, alongside others I have yet to discover help you go through the oral submissions and judicial interventions without losing yourself and panicking about the right answer, putting you in control over your case. Taking your time and finding the right case law lead you to structuring your arguments and creating the best defence for your client, whether being counsel on behalf of the Appellant or the Respondent.
