Judicial Review Moot

The Landmark Chambers Judicial Review Moot Competition consists of public law moot problems, with a focus on public law as it is applied in the planning and environmental law context.  Crucially, no prior knowledge of planning or environmental law is required.  The competition is an excellent opportunity for students to learn about the application of public law in a specific context and learn more about one of Landmark's key practice areas prior to pupillage applications.

The competition comprises of three knock-out rounds followed by a Grand Final, which traditionally takes place at the Royal Courts of Justice. The two individual competitors who obtain the highest scores in the Grand Final will each be awarded £500 and the opportunity to undertake a mini-pupillage in Chambers.

The first round of the competition will take place in-person on Saturday 16 November 2024, at our Chambers in London.  During the first round every student who enters the moot will be provided with the opportunity not only to hone their research, drafting and advocacy skills, but also to hear more from us about life at Landmark and at the Planning and Environmental Bar.  To that end and in addition to the moots themselves, competitors will be given the opportunity to participate in a planning and environmental law workshop with members of the Chambers’ Planning and Environmental Teams and to ask our Pupillage Committee questions about the pupillage application process and the structure of pupillage itself.

If you are interested please respond to this form before October 9th, you will then be contacted if successful for an interview between the 10th and 16th of October.
